Vintage Wedding Dress Redesign and Reconstruction

There are a lot of brides who appreciate family history and would like to marry with “something” old” along with “something blue” and “something new” as an Old English custom says.

As you do, Alis Fashion Design also appreciate vintage wedding dresses from your family such as your mother or grandmother or vintage/consignment stores because each vintage dress has a story to tell, and needs to be passed down.

Bespoke designer Lana Gerimovich specialize in redesigning and reconstructing your vintage bridal gowns. Vintage gowns are very fragile, and it requires specific skills to redesign and reconstruct. Using quality couture sewing techniques, Lana will turn your vintage bridal gowns into a modern, updated look yet keeping the originality and authenticity still.

The process of redesigning and reconstructing your vintage bridal gown is the same as our bespoke wedding dresses. First, we will set up a consultation to decide what kind of design and details you would like to keep, and what kind of elements you would like to add. Every dress has a different design, fabrics, finishing of the garment; thus sometimes the dress is not doable to be redesigned in what you would like. Bespoke designer Lana will give you professional opinions based on the garment during consultation with your vintage wedding dress.

Our custom work is priced based on hours that we need to put into plus cost of materials. Our hourly rate of labor such as measuring, recutting, and sewing is $75/hour. Usually, it takes minimum of 20 hours to recut, redesign, and reconstruct the wedding gown. It will be the best if you have your budget that you feel comfortable with so that we can narrow down the options of fabrics, and design details to adjust to your budget.

We have quality couture/vintage fabrics from reliable, well-known fabric companies. We can find the best fabrics to match your vintage dress as well as vintage laces, and trims.

Once we finalize the design details and the best matching fabrics, Lana will work to make your dream come true! Please take a look at Process of Custom Made Clothing (http://www.alisfashion.com/custom-made-clothing/) to see the step by step process!
